Artist proudly displays her vibrant, detailed paintings in a cozy studio. Selection of oil paintings part of Fitzbillies, Cambridge art exhibition of oil by Naomi Tomkys

Quintessentially Cambridge is a new solo exhibition of oil paintings running from the 12th of September to the 8th of December 2025 at Fitzbillies. The exhibition offers a rich exploration of life in Cambridge, both iconic and intimately familiar.

With her distinctive brushwork and gift for visual storytelling, Tomkys captures scenes of the bustling counters of Fitzbillies to the languid drift of punts along the River Cam. The shimmering queues for May Balls, the hushed grandeur of the Fitzwilliam Museum, and the warm evening glow spilling from The Burleigh Arms, all find their place in this vibrant portrait of Cambridge life.
